Vitalik Buterin Completes Ethereum Selling Plan Netting $39.36 Million
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has concluded his pre-announced selling plan for the cryptocurrency. According to on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain, he has sold a total of 19,326 ETH, generating approximately $39.36 million in revenue.
The sales were executed at an average price of $2,037 per token and were carried out through CoW Protocol using Wrapped Ethereum (WETH) settlements. The transactions originated from Buterin's Gnosis Safe wallet, with multiple transfers taking place over several hours to secure better pricing and minimize slippage.
The funds raised are intended to support the development of open-source software and hardware, as announced by Buterin in January 2026. He stated that the capital allocation would be deployed over the coming years across various sectors.
