Arbitrum's ARB Token Plunges Amid Token Unlock and Exploit Concerns
Arbitrum's token, ARB, fell by 3% over the past 41 hours due to a combination of factors.
The drop was attributed to a significant token unlock on July 16, which released 92.65 million ARB worth approximately $8.5 million, increasing circulating supply by 1.65%.
This increase in supply was partly driven by insiders selling their tokens, while traders also front-ran the event, contributing to the price decline.
The Ostium exploit, which drained between $11.86 million and $18 million in USDC from a DeFi protocol on Arbitrum, raised concerns about the chain's security and may have prompted traders and liquidity providers to reduce their exposure to the token.
