Blockchain.com Lists SUI as Demand for Layer-1 Tokens Continues to Grow
Blockchain.com has expanded its crypto trading lineup by listing SUI, the native token of the Sui blockchain. This move follows continued growth across the Sui ecosystem, which has attracted developers, financial firms, and decentralized applications.
The listing gives eligible users direct access to the Layer-1 asset through the platform's Trading Account. To access SUI, users must complete identity verification and add a payment method. Once verified, they can buy, sell, and hold SUI through the platform.
Blockchain.com described Sui as a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain built for fast transaction processing and everyday usability, with transaction finality typically completing in less than one second. The token serves several network functions, including paying transaction fees, supporting staking that secures the blockchain, and giving token holders governance participation.
The company also highlighted several areas where the Sui network continues to expand, including blockchain gaming through Hashi, which allows Bitcoin holders to use their assets as collateral within on-chain financial applications built on Sui. Additionally, native USDC support enables fast transfers across the network, helping users complete transactions with lower waiting times.
