Saylor's Bitcoin Acquisition Pace Accelerates as Funding Mix Shifts

Michael Saylor's strategy for acquiring Bitcoin has seen an uptick in purchasing pace, with the company buying over 40,000 BTC in two weeks. The funding mix behind these purchases is also undergoing a significant shift.

In the week of March 8, Strategy bought approximately 17,994 BTC, followed by a larger acquisition of about 22,337 BTC last week. These back-to-back weekly purchases represent the company's most aggressive buying pace since November 2024.

The funding behind these purchases is changing, with STRC-related funding now playing a significant role. According to fresh CryptoQuant data, around $377 million was sourced through STRC-related funding during the week of March 8, while roughly $900 million came from MSTR share sales. However, this balance shifted dramatically in the following week.

Last week, MSTR share sales fell sharply to approximately $396 million, whereas STRC funding jumped to about $1.18 billion. This change suggests that STRC has become a more important pillar in supporting Strategy's current and future Bitcoin accumulation plans.
