Function Brings Programmability to Bitcoin with FBTC Agent SDK

Function has launched its FBTC Agent software development kit (SDK) to bring programmability to Bitcoin in DeFi. This move goes beyond cross-chain liquidity and wrapped assets, according to Function's press release.

The SDK enables AI agents to read positions, prepare transfers, and evaluate market context. As a result, it allows the flow of $BTC liquidity into different lending markets while maintaining user control over the final execution.

The FBTC Agent SDK is built for developers using Vercel AI SDK, custom agent loops, or Coinbase AgentKit. It provides agent-native instruments to integrate with entities like Vercel AI SDK and customized agent loops.

Function has released a couple of packages with particular execution boundaries, including the '@functionfbtc/sdk-agent' package, which is framework-agnostic and focuses on conservative transfer preparation.

The rollout highlights a wider market trend where Bitcoin ($BTC) is transforming into programmable capital that can be integrated into next-gen DeFi stack.
