Ukrainian Authorities Tighten Scrutiny on Crypto Income Declarations
The Ukrainian government is stepping up its efforts to monitor citizens' cryptocurrency transactions. According to Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy, all income from crypto assets must be declared, regardless of the lack of comprehensive regulation.
As Hetmantsev emphasized, cryptocurrencies are not exempt from general tax legislation. Citizens are required to report income from any sources, including transactions with digital assets.
The current approach treats traditional and digital assets equally when it comes to taxation. However, a separate regulatory model for the crypto market is still in development, aiming to establish clear rules for its operation and taxation.
