Ripple Secures Preliminary EU License Ahead of MiCA Deadline
Ripple has secured preliminary approval for a Crypto Asset Service Provider license from Luxembourg's financial regulator, the CSSF. The approval came in the form of a 'Green Light Letter' and remains conditional.
Once finalized, Ripple will be able to offer regulated crypto services across all 30 countries of the European Economic Area through a single passport.
The decision was made under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework just days before the transitional deadline of July 1, 2026, when EU countries will begin full MiCA enforcement.
