Rakuten Gives Away Physical SHIB Coins to 44 Million Users
Rakuten Wallet, Japan's e-commerce giant, is set to distribute physical Shiba Inu (SHIB) coins to its 44 million users. The company will launch the production of metal replicas of SHIB as part of its 'Real Coin' lineup, which includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple.
The move aims to make cryptocurrency more accessible and user-friendly for a conservative retail audience in Japan. Rakuten Wallet plans to distribute these physical souvenirs for free at offline events and exhibition booths.
This initiative follows the company's previous marketing campaign using popular meme tokens, including SHIB and DOGE. Rakuten has also integrated SHIB into its payment system, making it available for payments at 5 million partner merchant locations.
