Bitcoin Blockchain Hosts Permanent US Constitution Inscription
The Bitcoin blockchain has once again hosted a significant non-financial transaction, with the full text of the US Constitution being permanently inscribed onto its blocks.
This is achieved through the Ordinals protocol, which allows users to attach arbitrary data to individual satoshis. In this case, the entire document was embedded into block 951,492 on May 29, 2026.
The transaction, identified by txid 261f3d9a0414c2904932183be3a51f1773087d03c664468f85c7b6f9ce8a5686, was processed without any token launch or governance mechanism. The fees for this inscription were relatively low compared to the block's overall value.
The Ordinals protocol has been used in the past for similar purposes, including a 2025 inscription that combined the Constitution and the Bill of Rights with a portrait of Donald Trump. This latest inscription is notable for its lack of corporate branding or press releases.
