Strategies Buys More Bitcoins Amid Market Downturn
Strategies, a US software company known for its massive Bitcoin holdings, has made another significant investment in the cryptocurrency. The company purchased an additional 1,587 Bitcoins last week for $100 million (approximately 150 billion won), bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 846,842. If current market prices are applied, the value of Strategy's Bitcoin assets would be around $56.3 billion.
However, this investment comes at a time when virtual asset prices have fallen recently, resulting in significant book losses for Strategy. According to calculations, the company is currently losing about $7.8 billion (approximately 11.77 trillion won) below its average purchase unit price. To put this into perspective, Strategy's total reserve is valued at around $1.1 billion.
It's worth noting that Strategy has been actively managing its Bitcoin holdings, with the company selling 32 Bitcoins earlier this month for $2.5 million. Some analysts believe that this move was a strategic attempt to modify its Bitcoin concentration strategy.
