Kraken Pro Unveils Largest Leverage Expansion Yet

Kraken Pro has launched its biggest single leverage expansion yet, impacting over 40 trading pairs across various markets. The upgrade targets professional traders seeking higher capital efficiency without encouraging excessive risk-taking.

The new framework divides pairs into four categories: stablecoin pairs with up to 10x leverage, BTC and ETH regional pairs with up to 5x, mid-cap assets with up to 5x, and DeFi blue-chip tokens with up to 5x. This segmented design aims to increase capital efficiency while maintaining risk controls.

Stablecoin pairs are now the most impactful area of change, with 13 markets moving from a maximum leverage of 2x to 10x. Carry traders and funding desks can access higher P&L targets with smaller capital footprints, but must still monitor execution risks and fees.
