Aave Expands Reach with Launch on OKX's Ethereum-Compatible Layer 2 Network
Aave has expanded its reach with the launch of its decentralized lending protocol on OKX's Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 network, X Layer. This integration marks a significant milestone for both protocols, as it enables direct access to on-chain lending, borrowing, and yield without bridging assets to another chain.
The deployment runs on Aave v3.6, the protocol's most capital-efficient version, and supports a range of assets at launch, including USDT0, USDG, GHO, xBTC, xETH, xSOL, and liquid staking derivatives. With this integration, users can trade tokenized supply positions directly on OKX's decentralized exchange without first manually withdrawing from Aave.
The integration is a strategic play for both protocols, with Aave looking to connect its liquidity to a growing ecosystem of users and applications, and X Layer seeking to position itself as a more competitive venue for DeFi lending and yield strategies. The move follows an overwhelmingly positive Aave DAO governance vote approving the expansion.
