Robinhood CEO Sees Real-World Assets as Crypto's Next Big Wave
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev sees real-world assets as the future of cryptocurrency.
Tenev believes that crypto is moving beyond speculation and memecoins, and is becoming a platform for financial markets.
The Robinhood CEO said in a recent interview that he thinks stocks, futures, private assets, and traditional financial products will eventually be tokenized and move on-chain through real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.
Tenev clarified that this does not reduce the importance of Bitcoin.
Institutional money is already flowing into RWAs, with major players like BlackRock expanding their presence in the sector. The RWA market capitalization currently stands at around $63.9 billion.
Several blockchain projects are building real-world asset infrastructure, including Stellar (XLM), Chainlink (LINK), Ondo Finance (ONDO), and Algorand (ALGO).
