Aave Fights for Control of Frozen Crypto Assets
A recent hack on the Kelp DAO protocol has left the DeFi community reeling, with North Korean hackers making off with nearly $300 million in rsETH. The hackers used this stolen crypto as collateral to borrow other assets on Aave, but several organizations were able to freeze some of the stolen assets before they could be laundered.
Arbitrum DAO was successful in freezing a significant portion of the stolen assets, worth approximately $71 million. However, other individuals who have been victimized by North Korea are now attempting to claim these frozen assets, citing decade-old legal judgments against the pariah nation.
