Cryptocurrency Users Targeted by Sophisticated Phishing Scam on Google

Cryptocurrency users have fallen victim to a sophisticated phishing scam targeting popular decentralized exchange (DEX) platform Uniswap. Scammers are using Google ads to trick users into accessing fake websites, leading to significant financial losses.

A recent analysis revealed that nearly $1.3 million has been stolen from March 13 to 30 through these malicious ads. The scammers use convincing clones of legitimate exchange platforms, making it difficult for users to distinguish between real and fake sites.

According to On-chain analyst b-block, the scammers have been using Google's 'Sponsored Results' feature to gain a better position in search results, further increasing the likelihood of unsuspecting users falling victim to the scam.
