AudiA6 Crypto Laundering Service Shut Down by Europol

A major international crackdown has shut down a prominent cryptocurrency laundering service linked to cybercrime and the concealment of millions in illicit funds. The Europol-coordinated operation ended the widely used crypto laundering service called AudiA6.

The total amount of illicit cryptocurrencies laundered through this service totals over €336 million (approximately $389 million) for the period between January 2022 and January 2025. Ransomware syndicates and other cybercriminals regularly utilized the AudiA6 service in attempts to conceal their illicit activity.

AudiA6 operated a sophisticated crypto laundering system involving thousands of fraudulently created exchange accounts based on both stolen and purchased identities, investigators discovered. The criminal organization operating AudiA6 allegedly offered individuals and groups seeking to launder cryptocurrency expedited access to 'cleaned' funds through private messaging services and complicated routing of transactions designed solely for concealing the origin of funds.
