Bitcoin Dominance Reaches New High as Altcoin Season Remains Elusive

The crypto market has been characterized by a persistent anticipation of an altcoin season, but so far, it remains elusive. Bitcoin's dominance has reached a new high, exceeding 61%, while altcoin volumes are showing signs of growth on centralized exchanges.

Despite the increasing activity in the altcoin space, several indicators remain cautious. The AltSeason Index only reaches 28.6, which is significantly lower than the threshold typically seen before a crypto euphoria.

Ethereum's transformation of the crypto ecosystem through stablecoins, DeFi tokens, and automated smart contracts has been largely overlooked in the debate about altcoin season. However, this phenomenon may be indicative of a more profound change in the way cryptocurrencies interact with each other.
