Malaysian Police Take Action Against Personnel in Cryptocurrency Theft Case

Malaysian authorities have taken swift action against twelve police personnel suspected of being involved in a cryptocurrency theft case.

The Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail, announced that the officers have been temporarily suspended from active duty as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident, which occurred earlier this month in Kajang.

During a press conference at the Cheras district police headquarters, Mohd Khalid emphasized that the police will take strict action against any officers involved in illegal activities, stating that 'we will not tolerate any wrongdoing' and 'if the law is broken, we will take action and press charges where necessary'.

The investigation into the cryptocurrency theft also involves the taking of statements from those involved, with Mohd Khalid stressing that further action will be decided once the investigation is complete.
