Crypto Industry Sees Sharp Decline in Monthly Hack Losses
Crypto industry hacking losses have seen a sharp decline in recent months, with the latest figures showing a significant drop in February 2026.
According to data from PeckShield, confirmed crypto thefts amounted to $26.5 million in the month, marking the lowest hacking loss for a month since March 2025.
The $26.5 million in losses represents a dramatic decrease of 98.2% from February 2025, when hackers stole about $1.5 billion from cryptocurrency platforms.
While January's losses were approximately $86.01 million, February saw a significant drop of 69.2% compared to the previous month, indicating better security conditions for several blockchain platforms.
