Bitcoin Volatility Index Hits Warning Levels Ahead of Potential Price Drops
Bitcoin's volatility index has been hovering between 34% and 38%, which historically precedes sharp price declines. This pattern was observed in late May when a similar volatility range led to a drop from $74,000 to under $60,000.
The 30-day implied volatility index (BVIV) is currently below its 30-day and 200-day averages, suggesting that volatility may rise soon. This could cause market turbulence and potentially lead to price drops.
Despite some Bitcoin ETF inflows, the cryptocurrency remains range-bound around $64,000. Global volatility indicators in traditional markets show mixed signals, indicating no immediate panic but caution is advised for traders.
