Strategy Drives Bitcoin Rally with Aggressive Accumulation
Bitcoin's recent rally has been largely attributed to the aggressive accumulation efforts of Strategy, a leading corporate investor in the cryptocurrency market. According to Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan, Strategy's buying machine has been the dominant force behind bitcoin's recovery from its February low.
The company added $7.2 billion in bitcoin over the past eight weeks, surpassing BlackRock's IBIT and making it the single largest corporate accumulator in the market. Its most recent purchase of 3,273 BTC for $255 million pushed its total holdings to 818,334 BTC.
Hougan believes Strategy's purchases will continue due to the issuance of STRC, a perpetual preferred stock carrying an 11.5% yield. This is particularly attractive given the current low yields on junk bonds and private credit.
