Robinhood's Crypto Revenue Plummets Amid Market Downturn

Robinhood Markets' recent earnings report revealed a significant decline in its crypto revenue, but the company's other business segments are showing growth. The tech giant's stock price plummeted 14% immediately after the report was released.

The first-quarter earnings report for Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) highlighted the impact of the cryptocurrency market downturn on the company's revenue. While overall revenue increased by 15%, crypto revenue fell by 47% to $134 million, mainly due to declining prices in the global crypto market, which dropped from $4.38 trillion in October to $2.63 trillion.

However, other notable segments of Robinhood's business are on the rise. Equities (stocks and exchange-traded funds) revenue increased by 46% to $82 million, options revenue rose 8% to $260 million, and prediction markets revenue soared by 320% to $147 million.
