OpenClaw Bans Crypto Mentions on Discord Server
OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent framework, has confirmed a ban on mentioning cryptocurrencies on its Discord server.
The ban is aimed at preventing scams, as seen during the project's rebranding process. In this incident, scammers hijacked abandoned social media accounts to promote a fake Solana-based token called $CLAWD, which reached a market cap of $16 million before losing over 90% of its value.
Developer Peter Steinberger stated that the ban is enforced to maintain a 'crypto mention strictly prohibited' policy. The community's goal is to provide a clean environment for developers and prevent scams from disrupting the project's growth.
