Bitcoin's Sharpe Ratio Dips Below -20, May Indicate Market Bottom
CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost has observed that Bitcoin's Sharpe ratio briefly dipped below -20, marking an extremely negative territory. This metric measures the relationship between investment risk and return.
A negative value indicates high risk compared to current returns. Historically, periods of such extreme pessimism have lasted several weeks to months and coincided with the formation of new price bottoms.
The analyst notes that Bitcoin posted losses for the third consecutive quarter, down 16.1% in the most recent quarter. Current data suggests the market is approaching a phase where this type of pessimism often occurs, which may signal a market bottom.
