Crypto-Friendly Moore Wins Alabama GOP Senate Runoff on Back of $12M Pro-Crypto Spending
Barry Moore has won Alabama's Republican Senate runoff, thanks in part to over $12 million in support from pro-crypto PACs. Defend American Jobs, a super PAC linked to Fairshake, spent heavily on advertising buys for Moore, with a total of $7.4 million before the May 20 primary and another $4.7 million before the runoff.
Moore's victory has given crypto advocates another test case as they look ahead to larger House and Senate battles. He will face Democrat Everett Wess in November, and while Alabama remains a strongly Republican state, Moore's nomination is still seen as a favorable outcome for the industry.
The result also marks a win for Fairshake-linked groups in the 2026 primary season. With nearly $150 million in cash remaining, the network continues to build its pro-crypto caucus. The broader test now remains whether PAC spending can keep enough friendly lawmakers in Congress before upcoming market structure votes.
