Five-Year-Old Crypto Predictions Prove Woefully Inaccurate
Five years ago, Reddit users made predictions about the future of cryptocurrency. One user forecasted that Bitcoin would reach $68k and another predicted it would be between $60-80k.
A third user envisioned a broader impact for crypto, predicting widespread adoption in various industries including payments, internet services, VPNs, supply chains, games, social media, maps, and more. They also believed that Ethereum (ETH) would eventually surpass Bitcoin (BTC).
However, the predictions made by these users did not come to pass.
A user who claimed that every prediction turned out to be false stated, 'The hype is what drives the price up temporarily, and once the hype dies, bye-bye.'
Another user reflected on their own experience with Ethereum, regretting buying in at $2k this year and expressing doubts about Bitcoin's future prospects.
