Ripple Invests in Flutterwave, Boosting Africa Payments Firm

Ripple has invested in Nigerian fintech Flutterwave as part of its $3.2 billion Series E funding round, integrating Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin and XRP Ledger into Flutterwave's payment network spanning 34 African countries.

This partnership enables faster and cheaper cross-border remittances by using RLUSD as a settlement asset, bypassing traditional correspondent banks.

The move aims to reduce remittance fees and foreign exchange risks in Africa while expanding blockchain payment infrastructure.
