Crypto Treasury Firms Make History with Russell Index Inclusion

FTSE Russell's annual reconstitution of its US equity benchmarks has led to the selection of SharpLink Gaming and Forward Industries for inclusion in the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indexes. This development is notable as both companies are among the first major crypto treasury firms holding non-Bitcoin digital assets to enter the Russell indexes.

The two companies, which hold significant amounts of Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL), respectively, will join other prominent financial institutions in the indexes. SharpLink Gaming holds approximately $1.8 billion worth of ETH, while Forward Industries holds around $585 million in SOL.

SharpLink's inclusion in the Russell indexes is expected to strengthen its access to capital markets and potentially generate increased institutional visibility. The company has stated that it will continue to deploy and stake its ETH holdings to grow returns over time.
