Standard Chartered Predicts Bullish Future for Bitcoin and Ethereum
Standard Chartered's Global Head of Digital Assets Research has made a significant prediction regarding the future price of Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to his analysis, both cryptocurrencies are expected to experience substantial growth by 2030.
The forecast suggests that Bitcoin could reach $500,000 by the end of the decade, while Ethereum may climb to $40,000. This would represent a 7.5x increase in value for Bitcoin and a 20x increase for Ethereum, making Ethereum a potentially stronger performer over the same period.
The analyst attributes this outperformance to Ethereum's increasing adoption by traditional finance institutions. He notes that banks and large financial players tend to prioritize security and reliability when building blockchain-based products, which makes Ethereum's base layer a default starting point for institutional development.
Rising network activity, measured through fees paid on Ethereum applications and protocols, also correlates with higher token valuations. As more use cases continue to grow on the Ethereum network, this increased demand could translate directly into price appreciation.
