XRP Ledger Rebrands Core Server Software as xrpld

The XRP Ledger has released version 3.2.0, which marks a significant change to its core server software. The new version is called xrpld, replacing the previous name rippled. This rebranding effort aims to distance the open-source blockchain from Ripple, the company often confused with it.

The release includes various housekeeping tasks, with changes to configuration files, database paths, and metadata. Node operators and validators are advised to upgrade immediately to avoid compatibility issues.

One of the key features in version 3.2.0 is the 'fixCleanup3_2_0' amendment, which retires over 30 older amendments in one go. This update eliminates legacy code that had accumulated across years of incremental updates.

The release also includes several security fixes targeting features such as Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, and permissioned domains. Additionally, developers can now configure NuDB block sizes, improve APIs, and enable optional TLS/mTLS for gRPC communication.
