Solana Platform Sees Huge Growth with Launch of Tokenized Stock Trading
Exodus Movement and Ondo Finance have launched Exodus Markets, a platform that allows users to trade over 200 tokenized stocks, ETFs, and real-world assets on the Solana blockchain.
The service is available through the Exodus self-custodial wallet app and gives eligible users in select markets access to tokenized equities. This marks a significant expansion for Exodus, which was founded in 2015 and listed on NYSE American under the ticker EXOD.
Tokenized equities have experienced rapid growth this year, reaching a $5.5 billion market cap as of June 8, up about 147% from the start of the year. Ondo Finance CEO Ian De Bode notes that integrating with tools people already use is key to scaling this market.
However, regulators are taking notice and have expressed concerns over tokenized stocks carrying the same rights and protections as traditional shares. Exodus has been upfront about the limitations of its tokenized assets, which do not grant shareholder rights to users.
