SWIFT Confirms Early Testing on Stellar Amid Historical Blockchain Research

A recent tweet from crypto analyst Steph Is Crypto has brought attention to an old webinar by SWIFT, where they confirmed early testing on Stellar. The testing took place around 2015 as part of basic exploratory sandbox research.

According to the webinar, SWIFT worked with approximately 45 to 50 commercial banks to study distributed ledger technology through sandbox experiments. Several public blockchain networks were assessed during this time, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar, and XRP.

The discussion presented these efforts as exploratory research conducted during the industry's early development rather than the implementation of production systems. While supporters of the Stellar ecosystem view this as evidence that the network's technology attracted institutional interest, it does not indicate a current integration or adoption by SWIFT.
