Ripple has obtained full authorization from the Luxembourg regulator CSSF to operate as a crypto asset service provider (CASP) in Europe. This move comes after the company received preliminary approval for the license on June 23, which was followed by the grant of full authorization.
This development paves the way for Ripple to launch regulated crypto payment products across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area. The company's Managing Director for the UK and Europe, Cassie Craddock, stated that Ripple enters the 'post-transition MiCA era' as a fully compliant market participant.
Ripple has also noted that its global portfolio includes over 75 regulatory licenses. In addition to this latest CASP authorization, the company already holds an EMI license for issuing electronic money and payment services in Europe. This makes Ripple one of the few crypto firms with full MiCA authorization.
