Binance Seeks EU License Alternative Amid Compliance Concerns
Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance is facing challenges in securing licenses to operate within the European Union. Despite its efforts, Binance failed to secure a license in Greece and must now find an alternative solution before its existing permit expires.
The EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework will take effect next month, which requires exchanges like Binance to obtain a license to operate within the region.
According to Walter Bloomberg, some EU authorities have declined to grant Binance licenses due to compliance concerns. This setback is expected to heighten concerns about accessibility and lead to pressure for a contraction in European trading liquidity.
The forecast suggests that if an alternative license is secured, the crypto market's decline will be limited; however, if not, it may weaken further.
