Ohio Issues Alert Over Bitcoin's Shuttered Crypto ATMs
The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Financial Institutions issued a consumer alert for Ohioans who have used cryptocurrency ATMs operated by Bitcoin Depot Inc.
The alert follows Bitcoin's bankruptcy filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas last month, which led to the shutdown of its ATM network.
Consumers may be eligible for outstanding funds since the kiosks no longer operate. A total of 32 consumers are owed $90,907, ranging from $18 to $43,000.
Those who believe they are owed money can file a claim through the bankruptcy case or contact Bitcoin's restructuring hotline at 844-339-4117 (Toll-Free U.S./Canada) or +1-332-232-7827 (International).
