Russia Lifts Mining Restrictions in Buryatia and Transbaikal Regions

Russia has lifted mining restrictions in two regions, Buryatia and Transbaikal, allowing cryptocurrency mining facilities to resume operations. This move is seen as a positive development for the industry, which has been facing uncertainty due to growing debt and tax issues with top player Bitriver.

The temporary restrictions had been imposed to address energy shortages during the fall-winter period. However, it's reported that regional and federal regulators have already prohibited cryptocurrency mining in another 10 Russian territories, spanning from Russia's Far East to occupied Eastern Ukraine.
