Crypto Hacking Surge: $1B Lost in 68 Incidents This Year
The crypto industry has seen a significant increase in hacking incidents this year, with over $1.08 billion being stolen in at least 68 attacks so far. This surge in hacking activity has left many in the industry concerned about the security of their assets.
According to recent data, three major thefts account for the majority of losses, with two occurring in April. The month has seen an average of over one hack per day, with 30 incidents reported so far.
The use of AI-powered tools is believed by some to be a contributing factor to the increase in hacking activity. These tools not only facilitate the exploitation of vulnerabilities but also improve researchers' ability to monitor and identify noteworthy transactions.
