Core Scientific Unveils Plans for Texas Data Center Complex

Core Scientific, a leading player in the data center industry, is embarking on an ambitious project to transform its Pecos, Texas campus into a cutting-edge AI-focused data center complex.

The new facility, which could reach up to 1.5 gigawatts of gross power capacity, will be designed with high-density computing infrastructure and will cater to the growing demand for AI compute capabilities.

Core Scientific has repurposed about 300 MW of its existing power load at Pecos to support data center operations, highlighting a broader industry trend where crypto facilities are being converted into flexible, AI-forward data centers capable of housing GPU-intensive workloads.
