The Polish Sejm is engaged in a complex legislative debate over the regulation of cryptoassets. Four competing bills have been put forward, each with its own unique proposals for how to govern and penalize crypto activities.
The government's draft bill increases the maximum fine for obstructing inspections to 25 million PLN ($6.9 million), while President Nawrocki's proposal keeps the current penalty of 20 million PLN ($5.5 million) but outlines alternative enforcement measures.
Meanwhile, the Law and Justice party has submitted a separate bill seeking to ban cryptoasset activity entirely in Poland. This proposal is expected to be considered after the Sejm completes its work on the four main bills.
