American Bitcoin Expands Alberta Mining Operations by Over 40%
Canadian province Alberta has become a hub for large-scale cryptocurrency mining operations due to its favorable energy resources and infrastructure. American Bitcoin, a company co-founded by Eric Trump, is one such operator that has recently expanded its presence in the region.
The expansion involves the deployment of nearly 11,300 new mining rigs, bringing the total fleet to approximately 89,242 ASIC miners. This increase represents a significant boost in computational power, contributing an estimated 3.05 exahashes per second (EH/s) to the Bitcoin network's overall processing capability.
The efficiency rating of the expanded operation is reported to be around 13.5 joules per terahash (J/TH), indicating relatively low energy consumption per unit of hashing power. This focus on efficiency highlights American Bitcoin's commitment to optimizing performance and managing operational costs in an increasingly demanding environment.
