BitGo Bolsters Integration with Tempo Blockchain for Institutional Clients
BitGo, a leading digital asset custody provider, has strengthened its partnership with Tempo, a payment-centric Layer 1 blockchain.
The integration enables institutions to access three types of wallets: self-custody hot wallets, self-custody cold wallets, and qualified custody cold wallets. Each wallet type runs on EdDSA MPC with Gas Tank support built in, ensuring secure and efficient operations.
Tempo's network supports TIP-20 tokens, which are ERC-20 extensions with native memo ID functionality. The network processes over 100,000 transactions per second (TPS) with sub-second finality, meeting the high-performance demands of institutional payment rails.
The addition of SendMany support allows for bulk payments through both the API and the BitGo user interface, catering to remittance providers, payout platforms, and embedded finance companies operating at scale. The integration also incorporates Tempo's Machine Payment Protocol (MPP), enabling AI agents to execute payments within institution-approved spending limits.
