Coinbase Introduces Time-Based Predictions for Crypto Trading

Coinbase has launched time-based predictions for crypto trading on its platform. This feature allows users to place wagers on whether the price of major cryptocurrencies will rise or fall across timeframes ranging from 15 minutes to a full year.

The prediction markets are powered by Kalshi, a regulated event contract platform that went live on January 27-28, 2026. The feature covers tokens including BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, BNB, DOGE, and HYPE, with a minimum investment of just $1 in USD or USDC.

The contracts are binary, meaning the outcome is one of two possibilities. For example, users can bet on whether BTC will be up or down in 15 minutes.
