Bitcoin Tumbles Below $58K as Dollar Surpasses 40-Year High Against Yen

Bitcoin's price fell below $58,000 on Tuesday as the US dollar reached a 40-year high against the yen. The cryptocurrency's quarterly losses are nearing 20%, while US stocks have seen significant gains.

The dollar/yen exchange rate surpassed 162.50, its highest level since the mid-1980s, increasing the odds of government intervention in Japan. Analyst George Gammon noted that this could put downward pressure on assets like Bitcoin and other currencies.

Onchain analytics platform CryptoQuant warned of a fresh round of investor 'capitulation' as exchange inflows rose sharply at sub-$70,000 levels. This pattern has historically coincided with long-term bottom formation in the cryptocurrency market.
