EU MiCA Regulations Set to Impact Crypto Firms on July 1 Deadline
The European Union's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulations will soon come into effect, imposing new obligations on cryptocurrency service providers. As of July 1, all firms offering services within the EU must hold a valid MiCA license or risk facing suspension.
Smaller exchanges and decentralized finance platforms are particularly vulnerable to the stricter governance requirements and compliance costs under MiCA. While larger firms like CoinJar have successfully secured authorization, smaller operators in markets such as Poland face significant challenges in meeting the new standards.
