BitMine Boosts Crypto Holdings with $11.5 Billion Acquisition

BitMine, a leading cryptocurrency investment firm, has made a significant move in the market by acquiring nearly 61,000 ETH. The latest purchase brings the company's total stash to over $11.5 billion, making it one of the largest crypto holders globally.

The acquisition is part of BitMine's strategy to capitalize on the growth potential of Ethereum and other 'moonshot' exposures. As reported by Tom Lee, Chairman of BitMine, the firm has increased its investment in existing 'moonshot' exposures such as Eightco by an additional $80 million to support the latter's purchase of OpenAI equity.

In a statement, Lee emphasized that higher oil prices will trigger concerns about slowing global growth, which would push investors to buy growth stocks like MAG7, software, and crypto. He added that Ethereum has outperformed the S&P 500 by 2,450 basis points since the start of the Iran war.
