Coinbase Enters Stock Trading with Yahoo Finance Partnership

Crypto exchange Coinbase has expanded its services to include stock trading, allowing users in the US to buy and sell over 8,000 stocks and ETFs. The move marks a significant push into traditional markets, with a partnership with Yahoo Finance aimed at increasing visibility among retail investors. This expansion is part of Coinbase's efforts to diversify revenue streams.

Following a limited launch in December, Coinbase has removed access limits, unlocking thousands of securities for its users. The exchange now offers commission-free trading for eligible stocks during market days, with extended hours running 24/7.

The partnership with Yahoo Finance introduces a direct trading link from asset pages to Coinbase, connecting the platform to Yahoo's reported 150 million monthly global visitors. Users will be able to execute trades on Coinbase's platform from within Yahoo Finance. Additionally, Yahoo Finance users will receive a one-month trial of Coinbase One Basic, which includes zero trading fees and USDC rewards.
