Goldman Sachs CEO Solomon Throws Weight Behind Clarity Act
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon has expressed his support for the CLARITY Act, which aims to establish a rule-based regulatory framework for digital assets. The bill, also known as H.R. 3633, seeks to clarify the role of regulators in overseeing cryptocurrency markets.
The CLARITY Act has already passed the House with a bipartisan vote of 294-134 on July 17, 2025, but its fate in the Senate remains uncertain due to ongoing debates over stablecoin regulations.
Solomon emphasized that codified rules are essential for secure US market operations, framing it as a competitiveness issue rather than a cryptocurrency-specific problem. He noted that the bill has 'a long way to go' before full enactment and that crypto activity constitutes only a modest slice of Goldman Sachs' business.
