Novogratz Warns of Buterin's Reduced Activity Hurting Ethereum Ecosystem
Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz has praised Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin as a 'crypto hero' for his foundational work on the world's second-largest blockchain, but expressed concern that his reduced activity is negatively impacting the ecosystem.
In a recent industry event, Novogratz acknowledged Buterin's visionary role in creating Ethereum and its associated innovations, including decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
However, he warned that the Ethereum community is feeling the effects of Buterin's reduced hands-on presence, particularly in terms of strategic direction and community morale.
This comes at a time when Ethereum is facing increasing competition from faster and cheaper alternative layer-1 blockchains like Solana and Avalanche, as well as ongoing challenges related to network scalability and transaction fees.
