Polygon Surpasses Rivals with Record-Breaking Stablecoin Transfer Volume
Polygon's stablecoin transfer volume exceeded $79 billion in May, surpassing both Solana and BNB Chain. The network processed approximately $79.25 billion in stablecoin transfers during the month, with a significant portion coming from USDC and USDT transactions.
The majority of activity on Polygon occurred at an average transaction fee of around $0.002, with settlement times averaging about two seconds. The network's cumulative stablecoin transfer volume has now surpassed $2.4 trillion, making it the blockchain with the highest transaction count for the month.
Polygon continues to focus on expanding its payment ecosystem through various tools and acquisitions. Earlier this year, the company acquired Coinme and Sequence in deals valued at a combined $250 million, supporting consumer payments and developer services.
