S&P Unveils New Institutional Crypto Index Excluding Bitcoin and XRP
The S&P Dow Jones Indices and Pantera Capital have collaborated to launch a new institutional crypto index, called the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index. This 18-asset benchmark is designed to provide institutional investors with a more structured way to evaluate cryptocurrencies. The index excludes Bitcoin and meme coins, focusing instead on assets that demonstrate real-world use, measurable revenue, liquidity, listing standards, and sufficient market history.
The S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index does not include XRP at this time either. According to the source, only 18 assets make up the benchmark. The index aims to give institutional investors a more comprehensive way to evaluate cryptocurrencies, rather than relying on individual asset prices or market capitalizations. It seeks to provide a broader view of the cryptocurrency market.
